19 November 2017.
Just around a month and half since I’ve been in Japan. The autumn just began, and people keep saying that Minoh Park in Oosaka is a great place for viewing red maple leaves—or momiji (紅葉). And I was invited to go with two friends (Chiita and Fran), enjoying the beautiful red maple leaves. Pardon the picture clarity problems, all I have for taking pictures and videos that time is my trusty Xiaomi Mi Max 2. (and because of limited space, I compressed the pictures for this post)
The park was full of people visiting. A lot of stores with very old men and women working, selling souvenirs and trademark foods like momiji tempura. Those tempura made of processed momiji leaves was surprisingly edible and quite tasty in my opinion. It is just … when looking at the very old people selling them, it reminds me of how Japan, especially in more rural areas far from the big cities really need young people around. But that is not something I can fix or help, so I just prayed for their wellbeings.
Just after the souvenirs stores, there’s a river and huge amount of red maple leaves—rather, yellow leaves turning red soon is visible. A lot of people stopped to take pictures, and it was really pretty. I live in a tropical country, only seeing red maple leaves from a computer screen— the blazing red colours is just very beautiful. Kids running around, people laughing around, made me feel a little warm, even though that time was super chilly because it was raining a little bit.
(not sure if this will ever be updated)
