Few days ago I went to my friend’s house and playing around there. We were making pop corn while the others working on their jobs like illustrating and translating …stuff (I was making pop corn because I am so useless and don’t have any job——except to write undergraduate thesis).
Anyway, for academic things, I needed to make a new passport photos (basically photos for my identity card), so I asked one of my friend to help me. It was already dark that time, so every shot my friend took wasn’t very bright at all. It was pretty balanced and nice though. Anyway, I didn’t need any makeup, however my photos do need some touch-up because of how dark everything looked like. I used Snapseed app on my iPad for the job, and it felt so fun editing the pictures pleasant to look at, with my Apple Pencil.
Anyway, my other friend needed her new pictures too, so I took them too. Because the pictures kinda dark, I voluntered to edit the pictures for her. Of course for free, and she accepted. She also saw the original pictures and express her concern. “My undereyes looks bad because I didn’t use concealer (she didn’t use any makeup that time), I guess I’ll take new pictures by myself later”. So I tried to edit her dark undereyes, with mixed results. It was a bit brighter, but it was different than her skin tone, so it was pretty off. I re-did it, and it perfetly blends, but for some reason it was making her undereyes look very….wrinkly. So I need to do something. I have to, because I took her pictures, and as the photographer, I need to ensure my friends that I am qualified to use a camera, and can produce great results (even though I actually don’t have to, I want for my work to be appreciated)
So, I remembered about those make-up testing apps Google Play put on my page before. I suggest it to my friend, but for some reason my other friends laughed about my ‘virtual makeup’—‘digital makeup’ term for it. Anyway, Apple’s app store is very clunky and the search engine is truly shitty, because Google search gave me better results for the app I want.
I installed meitu virtual makeup (while being very worried about the app stealing my data, but then who needs my data), and tried to make her photos look better. It was so funny how makeup can change people faces, so I laughed a lot while editing. I mean, it doesn’t look a lot like her, so it was pretty funny. It was rude, but I assured her I won’t make fun of her pictures (I want to make it a great photo!).
Anyway, I edited her photos with few different touches, and sent it to her. Some time after that, my other friend accidentaly looked at her pictures while borrowing my iPad, and laughed becuase of how different she look on one of the photo.
I haven’t asked for permission (and it isn’t right to put others’ passport photos, so I won’t do that. But after I woke up just today, I took a selfie and edited it with the virtual makeup app. Just to show you how magical the app is! I hope this can entertain you ?
Here it is!
(the iPad front camera is 1.3MP so don‘t expect great details!)

I didn’t put any virtual makeup on, but I did change my hair color.
This is the original picture.
